The following cases were heard at Cardiff and Vale Magistrates' Court sitting at Cardiff:

Benjamin Francis Davenport. aged 36, of Kenilworth Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to assault. A community order was made and he was ordered to pay £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Johnson Sparkes, aged 20, of Dorset Avenue, Barry, pleaded guilty to damaging a £500 UPVC door, assault and failing to attend an assessment after a sample revealed the class A drug cocaine may be present in his body. He was sentenced to a total of four months in prison suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to undertake 120 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months. He was ordered to pay £600 compensation, £170 costs and a £115 surcharge.

Pankaj Behl, aged 35, of Holton Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to drink driving, driving without insurance and driving without due care and attention. He was sent to prison for four months and disqualified from driving for four years. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £115 surcharge.

Julie Louise Harris, aged 41, of Buttrills Walk, Barry, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault. A community order was made and she was ordered to pay £150 compensation. She was also ordered to pay £300 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Benjamin Jack Harvey, aged 19, of Kingsland Crescent, pleaded guilty to assault. A community order was made requiring 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He was ordered to pay £85 costs.

Dean Mark Williams, aged 52, of Buttrills Road, Barry, pleaded guilty to two counts of stealing copper having entered a building as a trespasser and failing to surrender to custody. He was sentenced to a total of six months in prison suspended for two years. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £115 surcharge.
