YOUNGSTERS at a Barry primary school have shown charity begins at home – raising more than £100 for its link school in Honduras.
The Jenner Park Primary Charity Crew, who volunteer their time from across the age range of the school decided to raise £113 for the worthy cause.
Head teacher, David Morris said: “We have been attempting to help with the creation of a better school environment and for resources to make their school life more enjoyable. Activities included a Silly Dress Up Day and a colouring and drawing competition which pupils paid to enter. Winners from each year group were judged by Mrs Holmes and the Charity Crew and announced in a special assembly.
“Once again, the children and families of Jenner Park Primary have shown that in this time of hardship for everyone, they understand the need to help others. “
